The Shopping Season is pretty much kicking up and most retailers across the globe are offering discounts on their products and services. And the best news for bloggers or people who have other  platforms is that you can work with any number of these retailers to advertise their products/ services on your platforms; and get paid of course.

If you are interested in buying all the stuff that is on discount, read this article to see how to make the best of your shopping experience.

You have heard about affiliate marketing, right? If not, don’t fret. It is simple. You advertise/ sell someone’s products/ services on your platforms and the retailer pays you a percentage of the item’s prices.

If approached right, these Festive Season’s shopping can be one of the peak moments of a blogger’s life whether or not you have a massive following or your blog is a few months old. Here are four ways that bloggers can make money during this Christmas Festive Shopping season.

  1. Hop on the band wagon and sell your services/ products on discount too to increase sales

As you may have noticed, Black Friday (being the last day before the Christmas Festivity Shopping goes nuclear) and Cyber Monday launched the shopping spree. Some shoppers wait for this period to buy their desired products and enjoy their coveted services. You can identify with that, right? I mean, if your needs can wait until when your needed products and services are available at insane discounts, wouldn’t you wait?

Here is the secret: If you sell products or services, why not offer reasonable discounts if you will have massive sales? You can attach conditional discounts on some products/ services while selling the rest of your products or services at their normal or higher prices to guarantee you more sales and more profits in the long run.

2. Join Affiliate Programs –

Check this link on how to add the affiliate links

Chances are that you have browsed your favourite websites recently and seen a few ads by different suppliers. This post alone has a few ads from Hostgator kilimall, amazon, jumia, and I am still working on my approved adsense ads going live instead of the blank space showing currently.  Apparently it takes some time to get approved by adsense or for the ads to show on websites.

This is how affiliate marketing works:

  • You join the affiliate program of the company/ retailer whose products you want to advertise/ sell on your website
  • Your application get approved
  • The retailer sends you the your affiliate account login details which gives you access to the tools and platforms from where you learn how to add their codes on your website
  • Advertise on your platforms the only products you are comfortable with advertising on your website
  • Get paid the stipulated percentage when a client purchases the products from your referral.

NOTE

You do not handle any of the transactions on your website. The ads on your website redirect to the retailers’ website and purchases are completed there. As such, you need not worry about additional features on your website.

Ready to join one of the affiliate programs? Kilimall?

You can quickly fill in the following form and submit it. No, you are not submitting the information to me, but to the retailer (Kilimall) and your information is safe. Not even I can see what info you provide. Submit it and wait for approval as you continue to read the rest of this post.

3. Find marketers who are looking for your advertising space

Your blog may be performing excellently and you have a cult-like following of people who love your content and would purchase related products/ services if they saw it on your website.

In this case:

  • Reach out to specific retailers.
  • Convince them that you have a great following and that you can push sales. Pull site visits and other reports from your blog and share with the potential retailers.
  • Agree with the retailer your commission on sales that are made through your blog and other terms.
  • Get the advertisement codes/ images/ content and place them on your website and wait.
  • Get paid upon the achievement of your agreed upon terms.

4. Look for clients who seek seasoned bloggers to do content for their sites

Your blog is your first proof, hopefully, that you can and do write engaging and stellar content.

There are uncountable websites and bloggers who are in need of rich content but they lack the time to compose the content they need regularly for their websites. This is where you come in. If you have spare time:

  • You can reach out to such website/ blog owners and offer your writing services at a fee.
  • You would have to demonstrate your writing skills, which should not be a problem since you already have proof of writing.
  • Agree on the nature, length, and structure of the content they need, as well as your fee for doing the tasks for them.
  • Accomplish the requested tasks, submit, and get paid.

NB:

Use your best judgement to avoid being conned; working and not getting paid. Depending on the platforms you pick your potential clients and the relationship you establish prior to working with them, establish a system that protects the client and yourself.

What if I do not own a blog?

You can still make money online through any of the jobs (and more) listed on this post
